First UMC participated with United to provide free laundry for Decatur residents on Saturday, April 30.  Check out United’s blog post.

It was a great day of serving, sharing, caring and building relationships in our community.  We fed quarters to the machines (did you know the standard washer is $2, next size up $3 and jumbo was $6? Dryer time was 8 minutes for a quarter – that’s a lot of change to do a family’s laundry!), provide soap, served refreshments (thanks Helen for the scripture cookies!) and prayed with and encouraged the people we met that day.
